Congregation-Community Outreach and Partnerships at Epiphany
As a component of Epiphany’s mission statement “Reaching to Invite and Serve,” we are committed to local outreach and hands-on serving in our community. Opportunities range from local to national to global locations, and our participants range in age from 5 to 90+.
If you ask long-time members what they love most about Epiphany, one of the most common responses you'll hear is "it feels like home." At Epiphany, we strive to help create a sense of comfort and home for everyone by partnering with organizations who serve those most in need.
To sign-up for any of our outreach opportunities or to learn more about getting involved with the committee, please contact the office or Pastor Anna, [email protected]. For more information about current outreach opportunities from September 11 - December 31, 2023, please contact the office, [email protected].

Opportunities to serve include:
We support Versiti Blood Center of Illinois by hosting blood drives throughout the year.
Families in need in our area are served through a School Supply Drive in the fall, and the Tree of Love and Caring in the winter. Our “Souper” Bowl Sunday food drive supports the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry. Special Easter Baskets are donated to families in need through our partnership with Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI). Most recently, we have also partnered with Exodus World Service to provide new household and baby care items for refugee families in need. We have also raised funds for ELCA World Hunger.
Other Ministries - Many of our members volunteer at the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry and Elmhurst Walk-In Assistance Network. We have also volunteered with Feed My Starving Children, the Northern IL Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity (through Thrivent Faith Builds).
We regularly support Father’s Divine Love Ministries (FDLM) orphanage in Uganda. Under the leadership of Pastor David Zijjan, FDLM administers programs targeting education, economic empowerment, medical intervention, family and youth discipleship, and community outreach.
Epiphany has participated in Elmhurst’s Grace Café meals, joining with other Elmhurst churches to provide a hot meal to community members who are hungry, feeling the pressure of the economy, facing a tight budget or are lonely and eager to share dinner, companionship and conversation with other folks. Grace Cafe has been on hold due to COVID-19 but stay tuned with regards to this program resuming.
